Moonpay partners with Film Producer Julie Pacino for NFT based Movie

Photographer and Film-director Julie Pacino is busy in the middle of production for her new movie ‘I Live Here Now’. Just this week she announced a collaboration with Web3 infrastructure company, Moonpay. The movie is funded by the profit generated from her unique collection of NFTs, titled Keepers of the Inn.

MoonPay, a prominent Web3 infrastructure company, recently announced a fresh partnership with filmmaker and artist Julie Pacino to create an NFT-based movie. Dubbed as “I Live Here Now,” the film intends to inspire movie producers to utilize NFTs and eliminate intermediaries, according to Pacino. The infrastructure provider will be executive co-producer for the film.

The movie’s primary plot originates from the producer’s NFT photography collection of 2022.

Tom Capone, Head of Entertainment at MoonPay, stated: “We are absolutely thrilled to be a part of I Live Here Now, a historic project that highlights the power of Web3 to create community, break boundaries, and allow artists to share their stories.”

Pacino is highly regarded in the Web3 space and is an advocate for the voices of women and the LGBTQIA+ community.

The Future of Independent Film-making and Funding

Web3 has emerged as a potential stream of new funding and promotion for smaller budget films that often never get made in the traditional film industry. We wrote about this new wave of innovation in the approach to film production not long ago and it remains a topic of exploration for all visual creators working within the blockchain space.

NFTs have allowed us to re-imagine the community involvement in the film-making process with many NFT holders having direct access to film assets. Also, the Metaverse can offer a new virtual environment to discover new films, new ways to consume visual content and bring storytelling to life.

Julie Pacino is busy in production mode for the film and we look forward to a screening in the metaverse sometime in the near future.
