Why After Parties are the Best Parties

The event aimed to unite builders, ecosystem members, and like-minded individuals in a laid-back atmosphere high above the city at the picturesque TOPO MARTIM MONIZ rooftop.

“After parties definitely are the best! There’s truly no better place to solidify the connections you’ve made throughout a conference like NEARCON than at an after-party in a more relaxed environment. With great vibes, music, and an amazing view, it’s the perfect setting to enhance those memorable conference connections,” says host Sal

Whether concluding their NEARCON week or gearing up for WebSummit, attendees had a unique opportunity to unwind, appreciate breathtaking panoramic views of Lisbon, and engage in vibrant conversations. The event aimed to foster an environment where participants could connect, share experiences, and draw inspiration from the city’s energy and Lisbon’s captivating skyline charm.

NEAR Toronto frequently organizes post-conference events focused on creating a laid-back setting conducive to building and enhancing human connections. These events typically feature a stunning view, a casual setting for conversations, minimal use of name tags, a mix of local culture and ecosystem members, and an overall atmosphere of great vibes.

I met host Sal Chaudhry at the Garage Party in NEARCon following the Women in Blockchain event hosted by Tiffany Gao from Near. At that stage, earlier in the week, I had not as yet been given the green light to attend, and so I pestered him to accept my request. He did.

Sal is an interesting character. His offical bio goes as follows…

Sal Chaudhry is a pioneering entrepreneur actively shaping the convergence of sports, collectibles, and blockchain. As the Co-Founder of TENAMINT, he has significantly transformed the industry by utilizing blockchain technology to fractionalize and tokenize real-world assets. Sal is driven by a deep passion for merging Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 experiences, leading to the reconfiguration of business models and the creation of immersive interactions.

In addition to his role at TENAMINT, Sal serves as a founding member and community leader for the NEAR Toronto Regional Community. This quickly growing community is dedicated to connecting individuals with similar interests while providing valuable resources to communities in Toronto and beyond. With a commitment to supporting all members of the NEAR ecosystem, Canadian entrepreneurs, and web 3 builders, Sal plays a key role in fostering collaboration and growth within the community.

The party was fun. It was a great idea for people to chill and meet up over a glass of wine. It also provided a good way to end the week.

“I hope those that went on to attend WebSummit enjoyed Lisbon too,” says Sal.
