In an announcement today, SingularityNET (SNET), Fetch.ai, and Ocean Protocol have joined forces to introduce the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance.
This collaboration marks the emergence of the world’s largest decentralized Artificial Intelligence (AI) network, propelled by a multi-billion token merger. The amalgamation of these pioneering platforms accelerates the race towards Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), setting a new standard in the intersection of blockchain and AI technologies.
The brainchild of three leading minds in decentralized AI, the Alliance brings together the expertise of Dr. Ben Goertzel, renowned as the “Father of AGI” and founder of SNET; Humayun Sheikh, founder of Fetch.ai, a decentralized multi-agent platform; and Trent McConaghy, architect of Ocean Protocol, a decentralized data exchange platform.
Together, they envision an open, democratic, and decentralized approach to AI development, untethered from the biases of centralized control.
We are excited to announce a multi-billion token merger with @Fetch_ai and @oceanprotocol to create the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance, the largest open-sourced, decentralized network, and accelerate the race to AGI. Learn more: https://t.co/zT8Q1HbkEv pic.twitter.com/2U3VbeFfW5

Challenging Closed AI systems in current Big Tech
AI governance is a hot topic in the world of tech as Big Tech are now dominating the closed AI systems created today. By focusing on delivering decentralized AI systems the alliance believes that it would lead to more ethical and transparent AI in the future, fostering interactions between developers.
The strategic rationale behind the Alliance is compelling, catalyzed by the rise of AI and the exponential growth of the three member projects. By leveraging blockchain technology, decentralized AI transforms opaque AI systems into open networks, promoting ethical and transparent practices.
The fusion of SNET, Fetch.ai, and Ocean Protocol’s research, technologies, and products lays the groundwork for a scalable AI infrastructure, accelerating investment into AGI and democratizing access to cutting-edge AI platforms and vast databases.
Pending majority approval from their respective communities, the token merger will see the rebranding of $FET, $AGIX, and $OCEAN tokens into $ASI, with a combined FDV of $7.6 billion USD. Furthermore, the Alliance will establish a governing council comprising key figures from each organization to steer the operations of the merged network.
Looking ahead, Dr. Ben Goertzel envisions the Alliance’s role in advancing the frontier of AGI. “Our goal is to launch a decentralized neural-symbolic AGI system with globally-superior capabilities,” says Goertzel. “This move has the potential to usher in a new era of beneficial decentralized AGI and ASI, reshaping the global economy.”
By fostering a decentralized ecosystem grounded in transparency, ethics, and innovation, the Alliance is poised to redefine the future of AI for generations to come.
