CMO of the project is seasoned sports marketing promoter Alan Duran. He spoke with Blockleaders editor Jillian Godsil to explain about the genesis of the project and the upcoming fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury, as well as the platform’s token
“This project was first begun with Usyk was struggling to find sparring partners. He and his fellow co-founder came up with the idea for an app that would connect all the boxing ecosystem. This is an issue that faces the industry, whether you need an agent, manager or promoter.”
Initially the project began life as a Web2, but soon the advantages that Web3 can offer became apparent.
The platform is now using the decentralisation, transparency, security and immutability of blockchain to promote the $10 billion boxing industry, and plays a vital role in empowering young and unrecognised boxers to have the chance to spar with world champions.
Last month, RTF launched the $RFT token which is already listed on a number of exchanges. There are 400 million tokens, priced at 0.10$ each. These will be the lifeblood of the platform, allowing fans to interact with fighters and purchase items in the story.
“In addition, we plan for $RTF to be used to promote new fighters. It’s very hard for new and emerging talent to find financial support and boost their careers; we will operate the Subring feature where fighters can gain new fans and financial engagement. This is really going to disrupt the system and to shape the future of boxing in general.”
There are already 20,000 members on the app including boxers, promotors and trainers, but the larger community of fans is around 110,000 and that is expected to grow to at least 1 million people.
RTF is headquartered in Poland with other members of the team in UAE, the UK and the US. Compliance is important to RTF as too is security.
“We are gaining industry support and traction and one of the key elements is our ambassador partners – key of which is Mike Tyson. And increasingly we are seeing more and more key players in the boxing and greater fighting sectors taking notice. Ready to Fight is for everyone interested in this space,” concludes Duran.
