Brining Web2 developers into the world of Web3 is a critical component of growing the base of Web3 users. NEAR unveiled the details at ETH Toronto, affirming its commitment to accelerate and democratize Web3 development.
Why Javascript?
Javascript is the world’s most popular coding language. According to the popular technology platform, Stack Overflow, 69.8% of programmers prefer to code using Javascript. It can be used in all popular browsers and can be used to build mobile apps.
It also comes pre-loaded with useful libraries and has an easy set-up. NEAR prides itself on offering the same ease of use when unlocking blockchain capabilities and developing smart contracts.
With the new NEAR’s Javascript SDK, more than 20 million developers can join the 2.5 million Rust and solidity developments in the Web3 movement and build fast, scalable, user-friendly applications.
Commenting on the launch, Illia Polosukhin, Founder of NEAR, says: “Developers can spend less time learning a new language and more time building their application in a language they already know. Millions of developers already know how to program in JavaScript; enabling this group to build novel applications on NEAR is a critical step in achieving our vision of a billion users interacting with NEAR.”
Developers can learn more about the SDK with the NEAR start guide.
