Unphased by recent crypto volatility, MicroStrategy, under the stewardship of Michael Saylor, is again buying Bitcoin, a lot of it.
Saylor communicated the purchase today via twitter in a tweet.
MicroStrategy has acquired an additional 12,333 BTC for ~$347.0 million at an average price of $28,136 per #bitcoin. As of 6/27/23 @MicroStrategy hodls 152,333 $BTC acquired for ~$4.52 billion at an average price of $29,668 per bitcoin. $MSTR https://t.co/joHo1gEnR0

Previously, MicroStrategy made its last acquisition on April 5, 2023, when Saylor bought 1045 bitcoin for a sum of $29.3 million. This purchase took place while BTC was being traded within the price range of $28,000.
Saylor is bullish on Bitcoin. In a recent interview with our sister publication The Street he is quoted as saying ‘ Bitcoin is here to stay. Bitcoin is the future.’
In the same interview during Bitcoin 2023, Miami, he was quoted as saying:
“The reason that Bitcoin is so sound – literally sound – is because it is thermodynamically sound,” Saylor said. “It’s this masterpiece of engineering because we’ve created a monetary asset where we’ve stripped away all the counter-party risks.”
He was less confident about other alt coins especially in the series of crypto disasters of FTX, Alamedia Research, BlockFi and Terra Luna.
