Introduced on September 19, 2023, this venture is strategically designed to enlist individuals aged 18-35. Through an immersive virtual training program hosted within Decentraland, it recreates the rigors of military training. The construction includes a challenging obstacle course nestled in a military backdrop, comprising distinct outposts, each presenting a unique theme and test of skills.
At each outpost, participants find themselves immersed in a fusion of gamified trials, featuring videos, NPCs, and interactive quizzes. Successful completion of these challenges is pivotal, unlocking exclusive wearables and granting access to the subsequent stage. More than mere amusement, these elements serve an educational purpose, enlightening participants about the crucial skills and values integral to military service. Remarkably, approximately 500 wearables have been claimed by users since the launch, underscoring the metaverse experience’s triumph and user engagement.
Upon successfully overcoming the third outpost, participants don’t merely receive a virtual parachute for a thrilling descent to the starting point. Instead, they gain immediate access to an exclusive recruitment link, providing a novel and user-friendly avenue to explore employment prospects within the French Armed Forces Ministry. Adding a competitive edge, participants’ quiz scores and race completion times are tracked on a leaderboard. Outstanding performers are duly rewarded with a coveted camouflage suit wearable for their virtual avatars, enhancing the excitement and motivation among participants.
Samuel Huber, CEO and Founder of Landvault expressed his excitement for the project, “It’s been a pleasure working with the French Armed Forces Ministry from ideation to production to launch. The goal of the experience was to make government jobs more interesting and exciting for young people, and this build in Decentraland, through gamification, aims to achieve that. It’s another good example of how the metaverse can unlock news opportunities to appeal to a younger demographic.”
Axel van de Ridder, Digital Marketing Manager for the French Armed Forces Ministry commented, “When you cooperate, you operate: thanks to an agile collaboration with Landvault, the French Armed Forces Ministry is offering an immersive experience in a new virtual world for young people.”
Join the French Army in the metaverse to discover the future of virtual engagement. This new endeavor provides an educational experience, as well as serving as a gateway to potential careers in the fields of youth recruitment and digital profiles.
