In a strategic move set to redefine the future of Web3, Chinese venture capital firm GBA Capital has declared its commitment to infuse a staggering $10 billion into a Web3 fund.
This initiative, unveiled during the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Digital Economy Development Conference on December 26, signals a new era of funding and innovation.
Focusing on bolstering startups immersed in the realms of virtual reality, the metaverse, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), GBA Capital envisions this financial injection as the catalyst propelling the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao economic region into the global limelight as the undisputed “world’s meta-asset capital.”
Haolong Li, Chairman of GBA Capital, unveiled an ambitious plan to organize global tours spanning Japan, Singapore, Dubai, Silicon Valley, and Europe. These tours aim to elevate the profile of meta-assets, indicating a strategic move to not only invest but also to actively shape the narrative and trajectory of the digital landscape.
Pioneering a commitment to the digital economy, GBA Capital aims to be a driving force behind innovation and growth. The venture capital firm plans to leverage its extensive network of partnerships and resources to provide comprehensive support for startups navigating the Web3 and artificial intelligence (AI) domains. This support will encompass education training, industry capital, and investment incubation.
The monumental $10 billion investment fund by GBA Capital is poised to fuel the development of companies operating in virtual reality, metaverse, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and real-world assets (RWA) sectors. This significant backing underscores GBA Capital’s strategic vision to be a key player in shaping the future of the digital economy.
In a testament to their commitment, GBA Capital’s subsidiary, Zhongrong Global, recently triumphed in an angel funding round on May 29, securing a valuation of 100 million Chinese yuan ($14 million). These funds will be channeled towards supporting Web3 project incubation and industrial services within the expansive field of artificial intelligence.
As part of their overarching strategy, GBA Capital is deeply entrenched in investment and incubation within the digital economy. The firm aims to seamlessly integrate industrial clusters, capital resources, corporate expertise, and policy advantages, offering holistic support and services to enterprises pioneering the digital frontier.
Established by China Europe International Financial Group in Hong Kong, GBA Capital boasts backing from prestigious entities such as China’s state-owned National Engineering Laboratory and financial institutions like the Asia Pacific Investment Bank. The company’s subsidiary, Hongkong Global, has also attracted significant angel funding, further cementing GBA Capital’s pivotal role in shaping the Web3 landscape.
In the ever-evolving digital frontier, GBA Capital emerges as a beacon of support and innovation, ushering in a new era of possibilities for Web3 and beyond.
