First Congresswoman Jillian Godsil Elected to the Micronation Liberland

In exciting developments for the micronation of Liberland, four new members have been elected to congress, including renowned author, activist and long-standing advocate for women in business, Jillian Godsil.

Godsil has previous political experience having run in the European Elections in 2014. Godsil’s election marks a significant step forward for the representation of women in Liberland’s political landscape, as she brings her extensive experience in journalism and her passion for bringing women to the decision making table. Commenting on her appointment Godsil says

The election has introduced impactful changes to the Liberland Congress, with President Vít Jedlička nominating Justin Sun, founder of TRON, to serve as the acting Prime Minister of Liberland.

Sun’s new role, alongside the election of Ivan Pernar, former Croatian Parliament member, highlights a transformative period for the nation.

Godsil, who has been a prominent voice in Liberland for years, is widely respected for her journalistic accomplishments and her tireless advocacy for freedom and decentralization. Her election to Congress is a testament to her commitment to the values of Liberland and her ongoing work in representing the nation’s vision.

Alongside Godsil, other newly elected members include entrepreneur and influencer Evan Luthra, as well as the re-election of established Liberland community members Navid Saberin, Dorian Stern Vukotić, and Michal Ptáčník. Each of these individuals brings unique expertise to further strengthen the Liberland Congress.

Godsil’s appointment, alongside other new members like Sun and Luthra, signals a growing influence of accomplished entrepreneurs, technologists, and media professionals in Liberland’s governance, positioning the nation as a hub for innovation and liberty.

Blockchain-Based Elections: A New Era of Transparency

The recent Congress elections were conducted using Liberland’s blockchain-based voting system, marking the full deployment of this revolutionary technology. This system ensures transparency and immutability, providing a robust alternative to traditional election processes that often face challenges of trust and accuracy.

President Jedlička expressed confidence in the new Congress and the election system, emphasizing that Liberland is setting an example for other nations to follow. The blockchain system ensures that election results are final and free from doubt, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to transparency and decentralization.

The Provisional Government congratulates all elected members and looks forward to the Congress’s evolving role in shaping the future of Liberland.
