Etherlink Hits Major Milestones with Network Upgrade, NFT Success, and Gaming Investment

Etherlink, a leading Layer 2 scaling solution built on the Tezos blockchain, is making waves with a series of accomplishments that showcase its rapid growth and community support. The platform recently deployed its highly anticipated Bifröst upgrade, saw resounding success in its first PFP NFT collection, and secured a $1 million investment from Quantix Capital to bolster gaming on the Tezos ecosystem.

Bifrost Network Upgrade Bolsters Etherlink’s Performance

On November 7, 2024, Etherlink rolled out its Bifrost upgrade, a significant enhancement for its blockchain infrastructure. Bifröst brings improvements in token bridging, transaction indexing, and overall performance, strengthening Etherlink’s ability to handle large-scale DeFi operations and cross-chain interactions. Since the upgrade, Etherlink has seen increased DeFi activity, including:

  • Nearly $1 million in assets bridged from the Tezos network since mid-May.
  • Over $2 million in trading volume on IguanaDEX, the platform’s decentralized exchange, since late September.
  • New integrations with key DeFi protocols like Transak for fiat on-ramp services and SuperlendHQ, a lending platform, further broadening its financial offerings.

NFT Success: Mutant Digital Clan Collection Sells Out in Record Time

Etherlink’s first profile picture (PFP) NFT collection, Mutant Digital Clan of the Undead Lunatics, saw unprecedented demand, selling out all 2,000 pieces within six hours of its launch. The swift sell-out highlights the platform’s growing community engagement and the high demand for unique digital assets on Tezos. The collection remains available on the secondary market through Rarible, currently trading at an impressive 11x its initial mint price.

$1 Million Investment for Gaming Development

Etherlink’s expansion into the gaming sector received a significant boost from UAE-based Quantix Capital, which committed a $1 million investment to support the development of Web3 gaming within the Tezos ecosystem. This investment aligns with Etherlink’s vision to build a thriving gaming infrastructure and has already led to two notable developments:

  1. Sequence Integration: Etherlink will integrate with Sequence, a Web3 gaming platform compatible with popular engines like Unity and Unreal Engine, enhancing the potential for high-quality gaming experiences.
  2. Sugarverse Tezos Foundation Grant: The Sugarverse gaming project secured a grant from the Tezos Foundation to create play-to-earn games, with a token launch planned for November 2024.

Growing Ecosystem Accessibility

Etherlink continues to expand its ecosystem accessibility with AscendEX, becoming the first centralized exchange to support native Tezos ($XTZ) deposits and withdrawals on Etherlink. This new functionality paves the way for more convenient cross-chain transactions and extends Etherlink’s reach to a broader user base.
