‘Tis the season to be decorating your virtual house for Christmas. In a digital twist on decking the halls, avatars in the metaverse are gearing up to give their virtual abodes a festive facelift this holiday season. In Upland, they have taken seasonal cheer to the next level with the release of a new Christmas collection of NFT decorations.
Hold your reindeer, though, because the festive fun comes with a twist. Winter Holiday Ornament NFTs are the stars of the show, but they’re not hanging around for the whole year. Nope, these seasonal delights are here for a good time, not a long time, gracing the metaverse with their presence from December 20th to January 10th.
Christmas Ornament NFTs are seasonal skins for your buildings in the Upland metaverse and allow you to apply unique visuals to your building types. Structure Ornaments will be viewable in your asset wallet after they have been delivered and are fully tradable NFTs.
And here’s where things get even more interesting – the Spark Exchange Simulation. Remember the thrill of the Spark Exchange during Halloween? Well, it’s making a comeback for the Winter Holiday Ornaments. Avatars, get ready to participate in a simulation that’s not only merry but lucrative too.
Upland, unwilling to break the metaverse rules, is set to “borrow” unstaked Spark from Spark holders itching to join the festive fiesta. The borrowed Spark will be repaid in the jolliest currency of all – UPX. A whopping 9.9 million UPX is up for grabs for Spark holders with unstaked Spark, simulating the future Spark Exchange where players can rent Spark for UPX.
To get in on the action, all registered Spark holders need to sign up and let the virtual festivities begin. Rewards will be distributed based on the amount of unstaked Spark, adding an extra layer of cheer to your virtual holiday season.
A snapshot of unstaked Spark holdings will be taken on December 20th, so avatars, make sure to unstake your Spark before then. Submissions to claim your UPX rewards will close at 7:00 AM PT on the same day, making sure you don’t miss out on your slice of the holiday pie.
