Decentraland metaverse has just announced its first-ever Decentraland Game Expo, scheduled to run from June 26th to June 29th.
This event promises to showcase the cutting-edge landscape of web3 gaming, featuring the winners of the 2024 game jam, top DCL games, surprises from esteemed partners, and engaging panel discussions on web3 technology.
The event, dubbed #DCLGX, will transform one of Decentraland’s main plazas into a vibrant arcade of entertainment, where attendees can immerse themselves in the future of gaming.
It will feature booths from leading games within Decentraland as well as contributions from key players in the gaming industry. Moreover, attendees can look forward to daily live web3 discussions with industry experts, which will be broadcasted within Decentraland and on major social media platforms including Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
Leading up to the Expo, creators will compete in a thrilling Game Jam, vying for a share of the $17,000 prize pool. Teams of 1-6 members will have the opportunity to showcase their talents by developing engaging games based on a central theme within just one month. The top four winning games will be prominently displayed at DCLGX, demonstrating the creative prowess of Decentraland’s SDK 7 and its vibrant community of creators.

Participate in Decentraland’s Gaming Expo
For those eager to be part of Decentraland’s inaugural Game Expo, there are multiple avenues for participation:
Register for the Game Jam: Teams of 1-6 members can register for the Game Jam from April 24th onwards. On May 1st, the Game Jam will commence, with teams receiving this year’s theme and guidelines. With a combined prize pool of over $17,000 at stake, participants will have until May 31st to develop their games. Winners will not only receive monetary rewards but also the chance to have their games exhibited at Decentraland’s first Game Expo.
Apply to the Call for Games: Existing Decentraland game owners are invited to apply for a booth at DCLGX. The application period is open from April 24th to May 10th. Up to ten 1×1 booths will be available, providing game owners with the opportunity to showcase their creations and attract visitors to their virtual worlds.
Customize Your Expo Booth: Selected games will be provided with a 1×1 game booth template, which can be personalized with branding, graphics, and models. These booths will be installed in Decentraland’s plaza during the expo, offering attendees a glimpse into the diverse gaming experiences within the platform.
