Circle to make USDC available to over 85 Million Nubank Customers

Circle and Nubank have joined forces to make USDC, Circle’s leading regulated dollar stablecoin, accessible to over 85 million Nubank customers. Nubank, a digital financial platform serving 90 million customers across Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia, is gearing up to introduce USDC through its crypto platform, Nubank Cripto.

The collaboration kicks off with the introduction of USDC on Nubank Cripto, allowing Brazilian users to seamlessly purchase and hold digital dollars. This initial phase represents just the beginning of a broader integration plan, with Nubank aiming to extend USDC access across its entire suite of digital banking products.

This initiative has the potential to transform the way Nubank’s vast customer base engages with blockchain-based financial services powered by USDC.

Jeremy Allaire, CEO and Co-Founder of Circle, commented on the partnership, stating, “Our partnership with Nubank marks a significant moment in expanding the global reach of USDC, and an important step towards building the new internet financial system.”

Recognizing the increasing demand for access to digital dollars in Brazil, the collaboration is not only about providing financial services but also includes joint efforts in educational campaigns.

Both companies are committed to spreading awareness and knowledge about USDC in the Brazilian market. By establishing USDC as a secure, cost-efficient, and transparent method for accessing and transacting in digital dollars, the partnership aims to empower users to make informed financial decisions.

Thomaz Fortes, General Manager of Nubank Cripto, shared his thoughts on the integration, stating, “The integration of USDC opens up great opportunities not only for customers interested in having this digital dollar in their portfolio. Through this offering and the characteristics of Circle’s USDC, we are considering future possibilities to integrate Nubank Cripto with other financial services available in our app.”

In alignment with their missions, Circle and Nubank are not only reshaping the financial landscape but are also committed to fostering financial literacy.

Nubank Cripto’s robust platform already incorporates educational content about digital currencies, further empowering users to navigate the evolving world of digital finance.

As this collaboration sets the stage for a new era in digital finance in Brazil, the impact is expected to resonate far beyond, contributing to the global expansion of USDC and propelling the vision of a more accessible and inclusive internet financial system.
