BTE Ireland are the team undertaking the task of building Ireland. Their discord currently has 2000 members which is managed by a small team of 6th year students. The members , with ages ranging from 16 to 21, have done incredible work so far; they have successfully coordinated many building teams to construct some amazing well known Irish buildings and landmarks , curated a virtual community, managed multiple remote teams, produced social media content and have been active in socialising internationally.
Beginning April 20th 2020 when Mateusz Bartnik, one lone Transition year student, discovered the worldwide project and realising that there was no Irish BTE team, decided to try to contact the team that were currently managing building Ireland. After weeks of trying to get in touch with no luck, Mateusz began inviting Irish members into an “unofficial BTE Ireland ” discord server he made. He spent the next 2 months convincing the team currently managing Ireland to hand the reins to him and the newly formed “Build the Earth Ireland” team. Proving themselves more than capable after growing their member count to over 200.

On July 3rd Build the Earth Ireland became the official team building Ireland, working totally remotely with most members never meeting in person and in many cases not even knowing each others’ real names, (Mateusz known as ‘H2bomber’). A number of the members who joined before the team was official stayed with the project and joined the management team. Tomas and Reece were the first admins to join and helped to grow the project to where it is today. Managing the day to day running of the group while also helping to teach new members. Coordinating numerous build events and collaborations such as with Build the Earth Poland to recreate the Guinness Brewery, with BTE Palaces to build The Oireachtas , organising build events to construct a large section of Dublin City Centre , Tayto Park , Áras an Uachtaráin , The Oireachtasand and various smaller areas around the country. Many new builders joined as the project expanded and new members of management joined helping maintain the project. Bringing a lot of talented individuals to take over tasks such as server maintenance, event management, build coordination, website development ( bteireland.ie ) and more.
