I enjoyed my first Cardano Summit in Dubai in early November. I was speaking on a panel about education (see here) and met some amazing people during my short stay. One character that was lurking around the exhibits (actually, he was not lurking, he was hovering) and with whom I had my picture taken was Hosky. It felt a bit like the character breakfast at Disney in Orlando, but turns out Hosky had a lot more to say about himself and the ecosystem than I first realised. So, read on to find out more about Hosky and his/her/their role in the Cardano ecosystem
**1. Can you reveal who you are?**
I’ve chosen to remain anonymous as I firmly believe that the any true “value” of Hosky lies in the project itself and the vibrant community it has fostered. Anonymity ensures that the focus remains on the Hosky ecosystem and the principles it represents, such as decentralization and community-driven collaboration. It allows everyone to contribute to the project without any bias towards its creator.
**2. Can you tell me something about you (even if anon)?**
Certainly, I’m an individual deeply passionate about blockchain technology and its potential to revolutionize the way we interact with the world. My journey in the crypto space has been marked by a commitment to the values of decentralization, sustainability, and community participation, which are at the core of the Cardano ecosystem.
**3. Tell me something that no one else knows about you (not even your mother)?**
Here’s a little-known fact: I am behind Hosky, my parents have no clue about this. Would be very difficult to explain to them.
**4. Where did you get the idea of creating Hosky?**
Boredom, literally. But after Hosky’s inception, I was inspired to contribute to the Cardano community. I saw an opportunity to create something fun and engaging while aligning with Cardano’s principles. The idea of rug pools, where participants could stake ADA and earn Hosky tokens, was a unique way to support decentralization and provide a meaningful, rewarding experience for Cardano enthusiasts.
**5. Tell me about the tokenomics – ultimate number, etc.**
The ultimate number of Hosky tokens is capped at 1 Quadrillion and 1, Emphasis on the “and 1” making us the biggest pile of tokens by 1 more than SHIB. The tokenomics are HORRIBLE by any standard, but that’s the point. To show people that meme tokens are dangerous as they are often in the hands of the few.
**6. Is it listed anywhere?**
Yes, Hosky is listed on several decentralized exchanges, providing the community with opportunities for trading and liquidity. It is also listed on a couple of centralized exchanges, MEXC and Coinstore.
**7. What do Cardanians do with Hoskys?**
Cardanians can engage with Hosky in various ways. They can earn Hoskys by staking ADA in our rug pools, where they earn rewards in ADA and additional Hosky tokens. Hoskys can also be traded on supported exchanges, allowing for peer-to-peer transactions within the Cardano ecosystem. Furthermore, they can participate in our vibrant NFT community, attending events, and engaging with the unique Twice Award-Winning NFT collection.
**8. What does Charles think about your Hosky?**
I cannot speak about all that Charles has said about Hosky privately because that would be wrong. But I would direct you all to what he stated publicly on stream during the NFTxLV conference. He said “It would not be a Cardano event without Hosky,” which I think goes to show the lasting impact we have made in the Cardano Community and being seen as somewhat synonymous with Cardano.
**9. Do you think Hosky will ever become popular outside the Cardano community?**
The purpose of Hosky is to resonate with a wider audience; we attend events, both blockchain and not, to outreach and hopefully bring more users to Cardano. We created our Proof Of Onboarding (POO) CIP to enable us to attend live events and easily onboard users via wallet download and an airdrop of tokens, which can all be accomplished in under 2 minutes.
**10. What is the best thing you have ever bought with a Hosky?**
Nothing, it’s worthless. Jokes aside, plenty of users have swapped Hosky for NFTs in the early days. Someone even swapped a few hundred billion for a Space Bud NFT, which is Cardano’s first-ever 10k collection. So much has transacted that I would be lying if I knew what people were exchanging their Hosky for.
**11. How can people earn Hoskys?**
No need to purchase Hosky; simply stake your ADA in one of our 21 rug pools to earn your ADA + Hosky. You can also just show up in our Discord server and chat; we “rain” a few million every hour to those who simply interact with the community. There are also token airdrop services like Dripdropz, Tosi Drop, and Vending Machine that you can claim a few million $HOSKY from every epoch.
**12. What wallet do they need to have?**
There are many wallets available. Our main partner that supports our Proof Of Onboarding is VESPR; we are also in talks with Yoroi to get the CIP implemented. But $HOSKY can be stored on any Cardano wallet that supports native tokens, some examples are Eternl, Flint, Gero, and many more I cannot think of at the moment.
**13. What famous people hold Hosky?**
I have seen a few artists that have interacted with Hosky in the past mention they were “hitting the doggie bowl” in the early days. But, to be fair, I respect everyone’s privacy, and it would be hard to try and remember who, but know that a few “famous” people are also part of the Idiot Club.
**14. What is your secret wish for Hosky in the future (and then it won’t be secret anymore)?**
There’s no real secret wish here; we are quite open about our goals. We aim to onboard more people onto Cardano, educate them about the significance of decentralization, and promote the core principles that Cardano represents. All of this while ensuring it’s an enjoyable experience, and without the need to spend substantial sums of money to be part of a vibrant and engaging community. Our mission is clear, and we’re excited to continue on this journey.
