Nissan Announces Nissan Heritage Cars & Safe Drive Studio as Metaverse play

Leaping further into the metaverse, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has unveiled the Nissan Heritage Cars & Safe Drive Studio, a groundbreaking platform that promises to revolutionize traffic safety education while providing a captivating journey through automotive history.

This innovative initiative is a testament to Nissan’s unwavering dedication to leveraging cutting-edge technology for the betterment of society.

Commemorating Nissan’s illustrious 90-year legacy, the studio is a virtual haven that brings together the past and the future in an immersive experience like no other. Transporting visitors through time, the studio features three iconic models from Nissan’s archives, each meticulously recreated in a virtual environment that captures the essence of its era.

Step into the 1980s and find yourself face to face with the legendary Silvia Q’s (S13), where an intriguing investigation into the impact of pedestrian clothing colors on drivers awaits.

Developed in collaboration with Professor Chie Tsunoda of Sagami Women’s University, this exhibit offers not only a glimpse into automotive history but also valuable insights into pedestrian safety.

Travel back to the 1970s and discover the Skyline 2000GTX-E, a symbol of automotive innovation. Here, visitors can engage in a captivating mini-game that challenges their field of view and multitasking abilities, shedding light on the importance of staying focused behind the wheel. With assistance from Kitasato University’s Takushi Kawamorita, this exhibit offers a dynamic blend of nostalgia and modernity.

For those yearning for a taste of classic Americana, the 1950s-1960s exhibit featuring the Datsun Fairlady SPL213 offers an immersive experience reminiscent of a drive-in theater. Set in a classic American diner backdrop, this studio introduces a hands-on steering wheel spin exercise that adds a refreshing twist to traffic safety education. Developed in collaboration with Niigata University, this exhibit seamlessly combines nostalgia with interactive learning.

Nissan continues to push boundaries in the metaverse. Building on the success of previous ventures like Nissan Crossing on VRChat, the studio serves as a testament to Nissan’s commitment to innovation and community engagement.

With the Nissan Heritage Cars & Safe Drive Studio, the future of traffic safety education has never looked more promising.
