Crypto Megan: Vodka, Value and a Very Web3 Life

How one woman’s passion turned into a crypto education and communication empire

When Megan Nilsson first stood up to speak about crypto in front of a room full of traditional finance men at her Marbella country club, she wasn’t pitching a fund or a token. She was simply explaining Web3. And by the second lecture, one of those suits stood up and said, “I’m in. A million euros.”

“I said, ‘But this isn’t a pitch!’ And he said, ‘Find a way to help me get started.’ That’s when I knew this was real,” she laughs. That accidental pitch kicked off her consulting career and the birth of Crypto Megan, a brand that blends brains, beauty, blockchain and business with effortless energy.

Megan grew up in California, studied at UC Santa Barbara and fell in love with Spain during her year abroad. She’s lived in Spain ever since. A digital native with a flair for reinvention, her professional background stretches from tech startups to Airbnb entrepreneurship to consulting on digital transformation long before it was trendy.

“I did a master’s in Madrid in 2009, called MIB ISDI and which was founded by the managing director of Google Spain and Portugal at the time. It was in Spanish, and I barely spoke Spanish back then,” she recalls. Some years later, they flew in blockchain devs from her hometown in Santa Barbara to the class alumni celebration. “It blew my mind. That’s when the seed was planted.”

Fast-forward to today and she’s hosted the Web Summit crypto stage, interviewed the Snoop Dogg family, rolled out a docuseries with Propy, and taken her own podcast mainstream through a TV deal with Tim Draper. She even drove around Ibiza in a branded McLaren filming a “drive and talk” with Brock Pierce.

“Web3 doesn’t have to be boring. If people aren’t listening, maybe they need to be entertained while they learn,” she says.

Her show, Crypto Megan, is half entertainment, half education, a celebrity-meets-Web3 lens designed to onboard the curious and the culturally connected. Her Rolodex is stacked with industry leaders, entertainers, and high-net-worth allies looking to bridge blockchain and real-world impact. She blends real business acumen with accessible flair.

And then there’s the vodka. ATH Vodka, to be precise: an ultra-premium, additive-free spirit that ships with a tech twist. The Vodka itself is live in 9 European countries, and very soon in the US. The app will be live in a matter of weeks, and the token will be launched end of Q2 or early Q3

Tap the NFC-enabled bottle cap and you might win a token prize redeemable through an app that’s Web3 from the ground up.

“Vodka is the front end. The real magic is in the rewards platform. Loyalty meets on-chain utility,” she explains. “Bars have to stock ATH Vodka to use the ATH Rewards app. It’s seamless, gasless, and we’re already live in nine European countries.”

It’s built on Flare, which lets any token be wrapped and dropped as part of the reward experience. “Each scan is one-time only. It’s all about scarcity, fun and utility. You could win 1 euro, or 1,000 ,and then use it to buy another drink, donate it, or unlock discounts with brand partners like Jacob & Co.”

It’s not just vodka. It’s gamified loyalty, wrapped in a sleek bottle, powered by Web3 infrastructure and underpinned by a real business. The tech isn’t an afterthought. It’s what takes a bottle off the shelf and into the hands of a new generation.

Under the hood, ATH Rewards isn’t just another loyalty scheme with a crypto twist — it’s a carefully engineered Web3 platform leveraging Flare’s real-world asset infrastructure. By wrapping any token and anchoring it to a unique bottle via NFC, the app can deliver provably random rewards with real-world utility. Wallets open automatically, self-custody is preserved, and staking tiers unlock everything from venue-specific offers to premium experiences. “We’re not slapping blockchain on a bar tab,” Megan says. “We’ve built a scalable system that merges the fun of instant wins with the seriousness of real, on-chain value.

“The problem with Web3 isn’t the tech. It’s that most projects forget the basics: have a real product, create real demand, and then use crypto to make it better. We did it backwards to everyone else, and that’s why it works.”

With Revolut partnership talks, 30,000 bottles sold before launch, and celebrity endorsements from Akon to the Brit Awards, Megan Nilsson isn’t just building a brand. She’s building a bridge.

“I use my media to power the brand, and I use the brand to open doors for the industry. That’s what Web3 needs right now. Value. Entertainment. And a little bit of vodka.”
