Dray sat down with Blockchain Magazine to unpack the future of security in a decentralized, AI-driven world, and what it really takes to protect both people and protocols. “Everyone talks about cybersecurity,” said Dray, “but not enough people actually prioritize it. That’s because it seems like additional work. But it doesn’t have to be that hard, we’re here to simplify it and make it a no-brainer.”

AI, Quantum, and the Edge of Innovation

But what really stands out is the firm’s work with quantum randomness. Using photonics-based random number generators, Resonance has created a quantum password generator that outputs highly entropic security passcodes.

“Entropy is everything in security,” Dray said. “We’re using quantum systems to generate truly random passcodes, foreign languages, special characters, everything, so they can’t be reverse engineered.”

Another standout innovation is their open-source MCP server, which helps guide developers, especially non-security engineers, toward safer coding practices as they build. It doesn’t replace audits, but it does bridge the knowledge gap early in the development process.

“We’re helping builders think like security engineers from the start,” said Dray. “That saves time later and strengthens the entire ecosystem.”

The Real Challenge: Awareness

Despite the cutting-edge tech, Dray believes the hardest part of cybersecurity isn’t building tools, it’s getting people to use them.

“We’re fortunate to have strong inbound interest and a great network. But the real challenge is awareness,” he said. “More people need to be talking about cybersecurity. We need that resonating action, no pun intended.”

As the industry matures and governments move closer to full crypto adoption, Dray’s team is preparing for scale. Resonance is already working with layer-1s and preparing for the next wave of projects.
